Emergency Communications at the Quillayute Airport

Communications Conex at UIL

Quillayute airport is a listed critical asset in Clallam County’s Hazard Mitigation Plan. It will be a vital link for relief efforts during major emergencies.
On July 29th 2025 District 6 (3 Rivers Fire) took possession of a 40-foot Conex shipping container at the Quillayute airport.  Placed on the former Class C haul-out building pad, it has a view of the runway, the windsock, and the adjoining taxiway. It has been modified to enable and support emergency communications to hubs such as the Clallam County Emergency Operations Center in Port Angeles and the Forks Hospital and City Hall.
